Hi Dave.

I have been a huge Aussie Slade fan since I heard Slade Alive when I  was 14 in 1973. Coz I Luv You was my wedding waltz in 1990! Biggest regret in  life: being too young to get to Sydney for massive concert at Randwick  Racecourse, so have only seen the boys on You Tube or video.

I'll keep an eye on  your site and next time you see Dave, Don, Nod or Jim please say g'day for me  and tell them thanks for changing my life (you would know what I mean).

And  please ask Dave and Don to bring the band to Australia so I can buy them a beer! Sent from my iPod

Ken Grimson, Australia.

Hi Dave

First of all I must say that the content of your websites are excellent, bringing back many memories. You have worked tremendously hard
gathering all your info and cuttings, and must be hundreds of hours scanning,  but I know it has been appreciated by those (like me) visiting your sites.

Thanks for what you have done, as there is a lot of stuff I never saw before.  Some of the posters though I had on my wall as well - small world!

I read  on your blog that you were looking for photos of Johnny Howells and Mick Marston  at Walsall in 1991. Unfortunately a lot of my pics had somebody`s head  or armpit  in them (I was probably the same to those behind me), but I have  attached the  only one I have showing them and Dave on stage at the same time.  Don was sitting  on the edge of the drum riser at the time. The quality is  therefore not very  good, but at least we were there!!

I have some other  photos that I don`t  mind you using if you want to as long as I can keep my name  to them. I now do  photography more seriously than then, so I now like to keep  my copyright. Let me  know if so as I know how dedicated you have been to the
band and the  fans.

Looking forward to catching D & D at the end of
the year on  tour.

Thanks for your hardwork. Well  done.

Looks like the first date is on sale already:
Weds 7 December 2012 - Folkestone Leas Cliff Hall

More to follow no doubt. Be there or be square.

I found this artwork on one of the Slade Facebook groups. A guy called Colm McCarthy is going to present a print of it to his brother for his 50th Birthday. Great isn't it?

It was good to get an email from Don today.

He said that he'd been sent a link to my website. He called it "fantastic". He said there was so much in it, and as soon as he started reading it the memories came flooding back. Some sad, but some unbelievable.

It was really good to hear that Don appreciates the site. I have tried to make it a true reflection of my following of Slade - and things we both experienced... I know that Don got shown the website by his accountant, Alan, a few years ago - but I have updated it a lot since then.

Thanks Don

Great to meet so many old faces...and new faces, on Wednesday night!

The Dave Hill Event at PMT was a great success. All attendees thoroughly enjoyed it. Dave himself looked fit and healthy and was in great spirits. He talked about his joy of playing guitar and being in Slade.

Unfortunately, I had to get back to Cambridgeshire after the event - as I had work in London the next morning. - so I couldn't enjoy the post-event drinks that every else did..... Next time!

(Oh and how about "An Evening with Don Powell" event at PMT when Don publishes his book?)
